Welcome Families to our Invo HealthCare
Associates, Inc. website. Invo is a leader in school
based and pediatric educational programs. Our group
practice of occupational therapists, physical therapists,
speech and language pathologists, and school psychologists
provide service to children with special needs in educational
programs in thirteen states. Once children transition
to adult MR/DD programs, Invo continues to provide service
in setting such as day training centers and group homes.
Since 1993 we have a proven track record of working
with families to help all children and adults reach
their true potential.
Early Intervention:
One of the primary purposes of early intervention is
to enhance the capacity of families to support their
children’s well-being, development, learning and
full participation in their communities. Invo believes
that support and services should:
 |
occur in a child’s
natural environment; |
 |
include the family members, care providers
and friends; |
 |
focus on the child’s talents
and gifts and support them within the context of
typical play; |
 |
utilize expertise to adapt and accommodate
routines, activities, and places to support the
child’s full participation and learning. |
Invo is dedicated to
this end.
Preschool Programs:
Transition from an early intervention to a preschool
program carries with it many new and wonderful changes.
Ideally, our children are in a preschool environment
that is preparing them for the exciting school aged
classroom. Invo staff realizes that sometimes sending
our children to preschool is more challenging for Mom
and Dad than for our children.
Invo strives to make the preschool experience successful
and rewarding for the family and the child. Our therapists
integrate therapy sessions into the child’s preschool
setting, collaborating with you, the family, and all
other Individual Education Plan (IEP) team members.
Developmentally appropriate activities help to match
environments to the varying needs of young children.
Families, children, teachers and therapists learn from
one another through encouragement and focus on problem
solving skills.
School Aged Programs:
Before we know it, our children are in kindergarten
and progressing for a wonderful educational adventure.
Invo therapists utilize purposeful, goal-oriented activities
to enable a special needs student to benefit from an
IEP. Therapy is designed to assist in the development
of underlying performance components that are necessary
for academic learning and vocational training.
Federal and State Laws mandate that therapy in schools
be educationally relevant. With this premise, Invo therapists
deliver intervention in the educational setting, which
is distinctly different from clinically based, medically
necessitated therapy. Our goals are your child’s
goals. As in early intervention and preschool programs,
communication with families and teachers is crucial,
and our staff is always available for important input
and ongoing interaction.
